How To Login Wifi When Running Boot-repair

I was installing Ubuntu 13.04 alongside Windows 8 from a wink drive yesterday. I had installed it adjacent to Windows vii before on a similar device earlier and had not encountered whatever problems.

Firstly, in the installation screens, Ubuntu wouldn't connect to the wifi, I idea this would clear up after I installed it all the same (it didn't). When I got to the partition screen it was a bit odd. The last time I installed Ubuntu information technology was divided into occupied space and costless space, this time the difficult bulldoze was different. There were similar six unlike partitions, something like Recovery, System Book, sda/one, sda/ii, sda/iii, sda/4, sda/five. The bulk of infinite was on sda/4 (something similar 480 gb out of 500) so I clicked somethings and half of sda/iv split into sda/6. I chose to mount on sda/six and the residual installed fine (although due west/o internet)

When I restarted the computer, it booted straight to Ubuntu without giving me an option to load Windows 8. The estimator also wouldn't connect to the internet through wifi or Ethernet.

To try and set the booting problem I burned the Boot Repair disk (I tried information technology twice) but both times information technology sort of just saturday there. I'm not sure if I burned information technology incorrectly or something else. From what I've read something is supposed to come up upwardly quite easily, and information technology didn't. I also tried 'boot-repair' in the Terminal and that didn't work either. Due to the lack of cyberspace apt-getting kick repair was also crossed off as an selection

I can post anything as needed (I'thousand not really sure what would help)
